The above two processes are the main reactions in the first stage of curing reaction, in addition there are some other reactions.

    The second stage:

    When the temperature exceeds 170 ℃, the second stage of the reaction began to violent, until about 200 ℃, high temperature state of the phenolic resin reaction is very complex, including mainly the further reaction of dibenzyl ether, dibenzyl ether bond is not stable, easy to decompose into methylene bonds, and escape formaldehyde; there is the first stage of the un-reacted phenol alcohol continue to react. The second stage of the reaction is characterized by the cured material into a reddish brown, the color is more dark point may be dark brown, this time the main generation of methylene benzoquinone and its polymers, the reaction generates more and more solids, viscosity is getting bigger and bigger, their main form of connectivity is the methylene bond, and its curing temperature is 170 ~ 250 ℃.

    According to the curing principle of thermosetting phenolic resin, the heat treatment temperature of magnesium carbon bricks is generally set at 200℃. The holding time is usually more than 10 hours. The reason why the heat treatment temperature is set at 200℃ is that this temperature can ensure the complete curing of the resin and does not consume too much heat energy, and it is easy to reach this temperature with ordinary fuels and kilns, which is a more economical and applicable temperature.

    In order to ensure that the heat treatment temperature of 200 ℃, each enterprise according to their own characteristics of the design of a number of different forms of kiln. According to the furnace heat form can be divided into coal kiln, resistance wire kiln and microwave heat treatment kiln, these three types of kilns have their own characteristics, the following will be introduced one by one.

     

    Coal Kiln

    Coal kiln is one of the earliest heat treatment kilns used by early magnesium carbon brick manufacturers. The coal kiln is designed to distribute the flue inside the kiln, as shown in Figure 1, the just repaired part is the damaged flue, when the coal burns the high temperature flue gases go through the flue, which makes the temperature inside the kiln rise.     Resistance Wire Kiln

    With the development of magnesium carbon bricks, people have higher and higher requirements for heat treatment kiln, at this time many shortcomings of the coal kiln began to show, such as the kiln temperature is not stable, the appearance of the product is not beautiful, the smoke smoldering traces of serious and so on. So people began to design resistance wire kiln to replace the coal kiln, Figure 2 that is, the resistance wire kiln internal arrangement of resistance wire for heating, resistance wire kiln relative to the coal kiln has many advantages:

    (1) heating speed, temperature uniformity, precise temperature control;

    (2) production environment, no dust, no smoldering traces;

    (3) the whole process of automated control, without human interference, high safety;

    (4) because the resistance wire kiln is (4) As the whole kiln is uniformly heated, the temperature is uniform and stable, so the whole kiln life is long, basically can do the whole without maintenance, the only thing that needs to be replaced is the resistance wire.

    From the above points can be seen by the use of resistance wire kiln is the trend of modern production, completely replace the coal kiln is just around the corner, in fact, also proved this point. Of course, relative to the resistance wire kiln for the coal kiln is not useless, it has an advantage that can not be ignored, that is, the low cost of heat treatment, according to the actual production comparison, coal kiln heat treatment of a ton of magnesium carbon bricks than the resistance wire kiln heat treatment of a ton of magnesium carbon bricks cost to be lower than the cost of 30 to 50 yuan, in addition to a few relatively backward manufacturers and the pursuit of low-cost manufacturers also retained a part of the coal kiln, the rest of the manufacturers are basically resistance wire kilns.

    Microwave heat treatment kiln

    Microwave heat treatment kiln is a new type of heat treatment equipment, although its theoretical basis has been established a long time ago, and has long been applied to microwave ovens, but it is really put into industrialized production on the time is not too long, and a lot of its technology and experience is not as rich as the resistance wire kiln, especially the magnesium carbon bricks of the heat treatment process, not only the process of moisture evaporation, but also phenolic resin curing process. Process.

    For drying moisture only, microwave heat treatment kiln has the following characteristics:

    (1) Fast drying speed, saving time. Conventional methods such as: steam drying method, electric drying method, hot air drying method, etc., the moisture content of about 30% of the billet dewatering to the moisture content of less than 1%, at least more than twenty hours, and the use of new microwave heat treatment equipment only requires more than twenty minutes to complete; moisture content of about 10% of the billet dewatering to the moisture content of less than 1% of the use of conventional methods take more than ten hours, and the use of new microwave heat treatment equipment only requires more than ten hours. Microwave heat treatment equipment only takes more than ten minutes; and water content in about 5% of the billet dehydration to the water content in 1% of the following conventional method takes six to seven hours, using microwave heat treatment equipment can be completed in a few minutes.

    (2) high energy utilization, easy to operate. Because the microwave is directly acting on the material, so there is no additional heat consumption, while the conventional heating type of drying equipment, heat loss by the impact of the environment is very large, especially in winter heat loss is very large. And microwave heat treatment equipment heating speed block, with the use of open, do not need to be like conventional heating type drying equipment that needs to be warmed up and cooled down, saving heat. At the same time power adjustable, easy to operate.

    (3) Good results, can maintain the original color of the material, not cracked. Microwave heating does not require a medium for heat conduction, microwave direct action on the material, so that its own heat, warming speed, temperature uniformity, will not cause cracking of the material phenomenon.

    (4) assembly line operation, good working environment. Relative to ordinary heat treatment methods, microwave heat treatment equipment is simple and clear, covers an area of small, less ancillary equipment, as long as the most basic conditions of water, electricity can be put into production. In comparison, it can generally save 30%~50% of electricity, optimize the working conditions and save the working area. And the equipment is simple to operate, the operation of the whole set of equipment only requires about three people, running noise, greatly improving the site working environment.
